Softbox
Softboxes have long been a basic element of photographic studios. They are used to modify the properties of light: the size of the luminous surface, intensity and direction of light. Recently they are gaining increasing popularity in video productions. They are an excellent alternative to kinoflo type lamps. The softbox is designed to soften the light, thus reducing or eliminating shadows.
The presented fixture is a high-quality, functional softbox suitable for both flash bulbs and continuous light bulbs with a E27 thread.
Softbox dome - an octagon (octa) of 60 cm diameter - is lined on the inside with embossed silver material: the light is evenly distributed already inside the softbox, ensuring that the entire surface of the front diffuser maintains uniform power without weakening intensity from the center to the edges.
The outside of the softbox is matte black, so it does not reflect light from other lamps. It has a standard mounting for a lighting stand.
Folding/unfolding this softbox is exceptionally easy, and when folded it takes up little space and is very mobile. The high quality of the materials used guarantees trouble-free operation over many years. They are designed and manufactured to ensure safe use with fluorescent bulbs.
Studio Stand
Lightweight, studio and outdoor three-section lighting stand. Maximum height 230cm, working height 220cm, convenient section clamps, 16mm studio head with universal 1/4" thread. The stand is designed for use with small and medium lamps as well as lighting kits. It works perfectly in a configuration with flash and continuous light bulbs, softboxes, RedHead type halogen lamps. Good quality of workmanship, 12-month warranty.
Its dimensions when folded have been reduced by the use of a telescopic folding mechanism, thus not limiting its wide range of operation (ranging from 78 to 220 cm, adjustable smoothly at any height) and universality of applications. The leg spread (from foot to foot) is 75cm.

The presented fluorescent lamp generates light with a color ideal for photographic applications - it does not introduce color distortions. Thanks to the natural rendering of colors, the bulb works perfectly among photographers working under continuous light. The use of constant lighting allows you to model light faster and better predict the final effect obtained in photos. Low power consumption enables the use of this bulb both in open fixtures and partially closed ones (softboxes, diffusers, octas). The luminous power of 85W corresponds to a 400W halogen lamp.

Can I use a softbox for filming?
Absolutely. Recently, we have been observing more and more often the penetration of applications reserved for photography into the world of film. The SOFTBOX OCTA 60cm light fixture is an excellent alternative to budget panel lamp versions (so-called kinoflo). The cost of such a solution is significantly lower, while achieving the same effect.
What's the difference between an octagonal softbox and a rectangular one?
The easiest way to see the difference is in the shape of reflections on reflective surfaces. This is especially noticeable in portrait and fashion photography - the octagonal shape, similar to circular, mimics solar reflections. Octagonal softboxes also have better light distribution (especially when lighting from the front).
What should you remember?
- Softboxes work best at short distances. Place them as close to the illuminated people or objects, right on the edge of the frame.
- The larger the softbox diameter, the softer the tonal transition between light and shadow.
- If you have to shine from a long distance - remove the diffusive fabric. You will then get even more light.
