Softbox
Softboxes have long been a basic element of photographic studios. They are used to modify light properties: size of the luminous surface, intensity and direction of light. Recently they are gaining increasing popularity in video productions. They are an excellent alternative to kinoflo type lamps. Softbox softens light, thus reducing or eliminating shadows.
The presented fixture is a high-quality, functional softbox suitable for both flash bulbs and continuous light bulbs with a E27 thread.
Softbox dome - octagon (octa) of 60 cm diameter - is lined on the inside with embossed silver material: light is evenly distributed already inside the softbox, ensuring that the front diffuser maintains uniform power across its entire surface without any weakening towards the edges.
The outside of the softbox is matte black, preventing it from reflecting light from other lamps. It has a standard mounting for lighting stands.
Folding/unfolding this softbox is exceptionally easy, and when folded it takes up little space and is very mobile. The high quality materials used in the construction of the softbox guarantee trouble-free operation over many years. They are designed and manufactured to ensure safe use with fluorescent bulbs.
Studio Stand
Lightweight, studio and outdoor three-section lighting stand. Maximum height of 200cm, working height 190cm, convenient section clamps, 16mm studio head with universal 1/4" thread. Stand designed for use with small and medium lamps and lighting sets. It works perfectly in a configuration with flash and continuous light bulbs, softboxes, RedHead type halogen lamps.
Its dimensions when folded have been reduced by the use of a telescopic folding mechanism, thus not limiting its wide range of applications and versatility. Leg spread (from foot to foot) 75cm.
Photo Bulb (125W/5500K)
This fluorescent bulb generates light with a color ideal for photographic applications - it does not introduce any color distortions. Thanks to the natural rendering of colors, the bulb works perfectly among photographers working with continuous light. The use of constant lighting allows you to model light faster and better predict the final effect on photos. Low power consumption enables the use of this bulb in both open fixtures and partially closed ones (softboxes, diffusers, octas). The luminous power of 125W bulb is equivalent to a 600W halogen bulb.

Can I use a softbox for filming?
Absolutely. Recently, we have been observing more and more often the penetration of applications reserved for photography into the world of film. The continuous light fixture SOFTBOX OCTA 60cm is an excellent alternative to budget versions of panel lamps (so-called kinoflo). The cost of such a solution is significantly lower, while achieving the same effect.
What's the difference between an octagonal and rectangular softbox?
The easiest way to notice the difference is by looking at the shape of reflections on reflective surfaces. This is especially noticeable in portrait and fashion photography - the octagonal shape, similar to a circle, mimics solar reflections. Octagonal softboxes also have better light distribution (especially when lighting from the front).
What should you remember?
- Softboxes work best at short distances. Place them as close to the illuminated people or objects, right on the edge of the frame.
- The larger the softbox diameter, the softer the tonal transition between light and shadow.
- If you need to illuminate from a large distance - remove the diffusive fabric. This will give you even more light.
