The Chrome™ Lantern studio lamps are an excellent solution for lighting up the background of a scene. The Chrome™ Lantern emits soft, natural light, dispersing it evenly in all directions. The idea behind this lamp comes directly from film sets, where spherical softboxes are commonly used. They are employed to fill shadows in the background, enhance color accuracy, improve image plasticity and tonal dynamics. It is ideal for filming indoors, providing a gentle "fill" light. Remote control is possible via the included remote.
Based on professional film set experiences, CineGEN has created a lamp with a semi-spherical light modifier - the Helio™ 60 softbox at its core. Most of the reflector in this softbox has been replaced by diffusing fabric. This change in light propagation results in a different lighting effect. The Helio™ creates an extensive, soft area of light with a more gentle intensity compared to classic octaboxes of the same power. The light is distributed omnidirectionally (360°), with a relatively large light source size. The lamp's height allows for utilizing the ceiling as a natural reflector.
The light produced by the Chrome™ Lantern complements background lighting perfectly. Often, especially in amateur videos, we observe a scene where the foreground is well-lit (usually a face) while the background remains underexposed (the interior of a room). Placing the Chrome™ Lantern in the background allows for simultaneously illuminating it and highlighting the foreground through contour lighting (hairlight, three-point lighting, movie look).
Adding the Chrome™ Lantern improves the tonal dynamics of an image, thus enhancing its quality (and indirectly increasing bit rate during digital recording), allowing for lower ISO settings, and improving plasticity and color accuracy.

Helio™ 60 Softbox
The Helio™ is a surprisingly effective adaptation of professional spherical softboxes. Its genius and simplicity lie in utilizing an existing, proven solution - the integrated octagonal softbox - to create a modifier with the properties of a completely different fixture: a spherical softbox. As a result, we get a professional lamp at a price that would be unattainable for traditional construction. The lamp's assembly is also straightforward, similar to setting up a studio umbrella, saving valuable time. The diffusing fabric provides good light dispersion with minimal attenuation.
The Helio™ 60 has a classic E27 bulb fitting and a mounting socket for lighting stands (most studio stands will fit). In the softbox (closed fixture), you can use low-temperature photo fluorescent tubes and LED bulbs.
The Chrome™ Lantern set already includes an appropriately matched bulb and a studio stand.

DaVinci™ 50W LED Bulb
A remotely controlled LED bulb with adjustable color temperature and variable brightness, designed for photographic and film applications. It allows remote control even when mounted in softbox-type fixtures. The efficient aluminum radiator provides passive cooling without noise thanks to which the bulbs can be used during filming with sound recording.
The bulb achieves a variable color temperature in the classic way known from on-camera lights - by mounting a chessboard of luminescent diodes with two different color temperatures. This solution has an additional advantage: shifts in the spectrum of individual diodes increase effective color rendering for the entire bulb. The range of color temperatures is 3600K to 6200K. The high luminous efficiency of the bulb means that at low active power consumption, we achieve a very high luminance equivalent to 100-watt bulbs.
The LED matrices are protected by a light-diffusing cover (diffuser) with an area of 112cm², ensuring that emitted light has a pleasant, soft distribution regardless of intensity. At short distances, the light softening can match that of a softbox or beauty dish lamp. The bulb produces very nice, relatively large reflections.
The generated light is continuous without flickering, enabling filming at higher frame rates. The bulb is intended for indoor use, with an IP20 protection class. It is designed for professional applications in photographic studio conditions. This bulb is not suitable for household use. Its casing is not hermetically sealed.

Studio Stand
A studio and outdoor, three-section lighting stand. Maximum height: 230cm; working height: 220 cm; comfortable section clamps; a 16mm studio head with a universal 1/4" thread. The stand is designed for use with small and medium lamps as well as lighting sets. It works excellently in configurations with flash and continuous light lamps, softboxes, and halogen lamps. Its dimensions after folding have been reduced by using a telescopic folding mechanism, thus not limiting the wide range of work (ranging from 78 to 220 cm, adjustable smoothly at any height) or its versatility.
The stand allows for Chrome™ Lantern lamp operation in most cases encountered in home studio conditions. The height enables framing from a seated position up to a wide shot of an entire room.

Chrome™ Lantern
Lighting a scene is the most important factor that separates professionals from amateurs. To achieve success in an era dominated by video production, we observe competition and learn to evaluate images in the best productions. Paying attention to details shows that we take our work (or hobby) seriously and respect viewers. Introducing background lighting provides a subtle image change that distinguishes professional productions from amateur ones.
Skilful use of studio lamps allows equipment to operate in optimal conditions, focuses the viewer's attention on the message, creates an impression of wide reach and great popularity.
Remember that the art of filming and photography is about creating a visually more attractive reality within the frame. An even greater art is achieving television studio effects under domestic conditions. CineGEN softboxes, including the Chrome™ Lantern series, are affordably priced lamps whose skilful use will charm viewers and defeat competition.
- Chrome™ Lantern lamps have been designed as a complementary light source. When used as the main light, pay attention to ensure that it does not shine on the lens (by using a lens hood).
- For wider shots and larger scenes, use several lamps to improve propagation.
- Thoughtful use of lamps with different color temperatures produces excellent creative effects.
- In narrow frames, the lamp is a source of contour lighting that gives an image depth.
