The Chrome™ Lantern studio lamps are an excellent solution for lighting up the background of a scene. The Chrome™ Lantern emits soft, natural light, dispersing it evenly in all directions. The idea behind this lamp comes directly from film sets, where spherical softboxes are commonly used. They are employed to fill shadows in the background, enhance color accuracy, improve image plasticity and tonal dynamics. It is ideal for filming indoors, providing a gentle "fill" light. Remote control is possible using the included remote.
Based on professional film set experiences, CineGEN has created a lamp with a semi-spherical light modifier - the Helio™ 60 softbox. Most of the reflector's surface has been replaced with diffusing fabric. This change in light propagation results in a unique lighting effect. The Helio™ creates an extensive, soft area of light with a more subtle intensity compared to classic octaboxes of the same power. The light is omnidirectional (360°), with a relatively large light source size. The lamp's height allows for utilizing the ceiling as a natural reflector.
The light produced by the Chrome™ Lantern complements the lighting in the background perfectly. Often, especially in amateur videos, we observe scenes where the foreground is well-lit (usually faces) while the background remains underexposed (the interior of a room). Placing the Chrome™ Lantern in the background allows for simultaneous illumination of both the background and the foreground through contour lighting techniques (hairlight, three-point lighting, movie look).
Adding the Chrome™ Lantern improves the tonal dynamics of an image, thus enhancing its quality (and indirectly increasing data throughput during digital recording). It also enables the use of lower sensitivities while improving plasticity and color accuracy.

Helio™ 60 Softbox
The Helio™ is a surprisingly effective adaptation of professional spherical softboxes. Its genius lies in the simple yet ingenious use of an existing and proven solution - integrating an octagonal softbox to create a modifier with the properties of a completely different fixture: a spherical softbox. As a result, we get a professional lamp at a price that would be unattainable for traditional designs. The lamp's assembly is also straightforward, similar to setting up a studio umbrella, saving valuable time. The diffusing fabric provides good light dispersion with minimal attenuation.
The Helio™ 60 has a classic E27 bulb fitting and a mounting socket for lighting stands (most studio stands will be compatible). In the softbox (closed fixture), you can use low-temperature photo fluorescent lamps as well as LED bulbs.
The Chrome™ Lantern set already includes an appropriately matched bulb and a studio stand.

DaVinci™ 150W LED Bulb
A remotely controlled LED bulb with adjustable color temperature and variable brightness, designed for photographic and film applications. It allows remote control even when mounted in softbox-type fixtures. The efficient aluminum radiator provides passive cooling without noise, making it possible to use the bulbs during filming with sound recording.
The variable color temperature is achieved using a classic method known from on-camera lights - by mounting a chessboard of luminescent diodes with two different color temperatures. This solution has an additional advantage: shifts in the spectrum of individual diodes increase the effective color rendering for the entire bulb. The range of color temperatures goes from 3600K to 6200K. The high luminous efficiency of the bulb means that, despite low active power consumption, we achieve very high luminance comparable to 300-watt bulbs.
The LED arrays are protected by a light-diffusing cover with an area of 112cm², ensuring pleasant and soft light distribution regardless of intensity. At short distances, the softened light can mimic that of a softbox or beauty dish lamp. The bulb produces very nice, relatively large reflections.
The generated light is continuous without flickering, enabling filming at higher frame rates. The bulb is intended for indoor use, with an IP20 protection class. It is designed for professional applications in photographic studio conditions and is not suitable for household use. The bulb housing is not hermetically sealed.

Studio Stand
A studio and outdoor, three-section lighting stand. Maximum height: 210cm; working height: 200 cm; comfortable section clamps; a 16mm studio head with universal 1/4" thread. The stand is designed for use with small and medium lamps as well as lighting sets. It works perfectly in configurations with flash and continuous lights, softboxes, and halogen lamps. Its compact dimensions when folded are achieved through the use of a telescopic folding mechanism, which does not limit its wide range of operation (from 78 to 210 cm, adjustable smoothly to any height) or versatility.
The stand allows for using the Chrome™ Lantern lamp in most situations encountered in home studio conditions. The height enables framing from a seated position up to a wide shot of an entire room.

Chrome™ Lantern
Lighting a scene is the most important factor that separates professionals from amateurs. To achieve success in an era dominated by video productions, we must observe our competition and learn to evaluate images in their best realizations. Paying attention to details shows that we take our work (or hobby) seriously and respect our viewers. Introducing lighting for background scenes brings about a subtle change in the image that distinguishes professional from amateur productions.
Skilful use of studio lamps allows equipment to operate under optimal conditions, focuses the viewer's attention on the message conveyed, and creates an impression of wide reach and popularity.
Remember that the art of filming and photography involves creating a visually more attractive reality within the frame. The greater art is achieving television studio effects in home settings. CineGEN softboxes, including the Chrome™ Lantern series, are affordably priced lamps whose skilful use will enchant viewers and defeat competition.
- The Chrome™ Lantern lamps have been designed as a complementary light source. When used as the main light, pay attention to avoid direct light on the lens (by using a lens hood).
- For wider shots and larger scenes, use several lamps to improve propagation.
- Creative effects can be achieved by carefully combining lamps with different color temperatures.
- In narrow frames, the lamp becomes a source of contour lighting that gives depth to an image.
