The Chrome™ Lantern studio lamps are an excellent solution for lighting up the background of a scene. The Chrome™ Lantern emits soft, natural light, dispersing it evenly in all directions. The idea behind this lamp comes directly from film sets, where spherical softboxes are commonly used. They are employed to fill shadows in the background, enhance color accuracy, improve image plasticity and tonal dynamics. This lamp is perfect for filming indoors, providing a gentle "fill" light. It can be remotely controlled using the included remote control.
Based on professional film set experiences, CineGEN has created a lamp with a semi-spherical light modifier - the Helio™ 60 softbox. Most of the reflector part of this softbox is replaced by diffusing fabric. This changes how the light propagates and, as a result, how it illuminates. The Helio™ softbox creates an extensive, soft area of light with a gentler intensity compared to classic octaboxes of the same power. The light distribution is omnidirectional (360°), with a large relative size of the light source. The lamp's height allows for utilizing the ceiling as a natural reflector.
The light produced by the Chrome™ Lantern complements the lighting in the background perfectly. Often, especially in amateur videos, we observe a scene where the foreground is well-lit (usually a face) while the background remains underexposed (the interior of a room). Placing the Chrome™ Lantern in the background allows for simultaneously illuminating it and highlighting the foreground through contour lighting (hairlight, three-point lighting, movie look).
Adding the Chrome™ Lantern improves the tonal dynamics of an image, thus increasing its quality (and indirectly boosting throughput during digital recording), allowing for lower sensitivities, and enhancing plasticity and color accuracy.

Helio™ 60 Softbox
The Helio™ is a surprisingly effective adaptation of professional spherical softboxes. Its genius and simplicity lie in utilizing an existing, proven solution - the integrated octagonal softbox - to create a modifier with the properties of a completely different fixture: a spherical softbox. As a result, we get a professional lamp at a price that would be unattainable for a classic construction. The lamp's assembly is also straightforward, similar to setting up a studio umbrella, saving valuable time. The diffusing fabric provides good light dispersion with minimal attenuation.
The Helio™ 60 has a classic E27 bulb fitting and a mounting socket for an illumination stand (most studio stands will fit). In the softbox (closed fixture), you can use low-temperature photo fluorescent lamps or LED bulbs.
The Chrome™ Lantern set already includes a suitably matched bulb and a studio stand.

DaVinci™ 150W LED Bulb
A remotely controlled LED bulb with adjustable color temperature and variable brightness, designed for photographic and film applications. It allows for remote control even after being mounted in softbox-type fixtures. The efficient aluminum radiator provides passive cooling silently, allowing the bulbs to be used during filming with sound recording.
The bulb achieves a variable color temperature using the classic method known from on-camera lights - by mounting a chessboard of luminescent diodes with two different color temperatures. This solution has an additional advantage: shifts in the spectrum of individual diodes increase the effective color rendering for the entire bulb. The range of color temperatures goes from 3600K to 6200K. The high luminous efficiency of the bulb means that, despite low active power consumption, we achieve very high luminance comparable to 300-watt bulbs.
The LED matrices are protected by a light-diffusing cover (diffuser) with an area of 112cm², ensuring that the emitted light has a pleasant, soft distribution regardless of intensity. At short distances, this softening effect can match that of a softbox or beauty dish lamp. The bulb produces very nice, relatively large reflections.
The generated light is continuous without flickering, enabling filming at higher frame rates. The bulb is designed for indoor use, with an IP20 protection class. It is intended for professional applications in photographic studio conditions and not for household use. The bulb's housing is not hermetically sealed.

Studio Stand
A three-section studio and outdoor lighting stand. Maximum height: 230cm, working height: 220 cm, comfortable section clamps, a 16mm studio head with a universal 1/4" thread. The stand is designed for use with small and medium lamps as well as lighting sets. It works excellently in configurations with flash and continuous light lamps, softboxes, and halogen lamps. Its dimensions after folding have been reduced by using a telescopic folding mechanism, thus not limiting the wide range of work (ranging from 78 to 220 cm, adjustable smoothly at any height) or its versatility.
The stand allows for using the Chrome™ Lantern lamp in most cases encountered in home studio conditions. Its height enables framing from a seated position up to a wide shot of an entire room.

Chrome™ Lantern
Lighting a scene is the most important factor that separates professionals from amateurs. To achieve success in times dominated by video productions, we observe competition and learn to evaluate images in the best realizations. Paying attention to details shows that we take our work (or hobby) seriously and respect viewers. Introducing lighting for background scenes brings about a subtle change in the image that distinguishes professional productions from amateur ones.
Skilful use of studio lamps allows equipment to operate under optimal conditions, focuses viewer attention on the message conveyed, and creates an impression of wide reach and great popularity.
Remember that the art of filming and photography involves creating a more visually appealing reality within the frame. Achieving television studio effects in home settings is even greater artistry. CineGEN softboxes, including the Chrome™ Lantern series, are affordably priced lamps whose skilful use will enchant viewers and overcome competition.
- The Chrome™ Lantern lamps have been designed as a complementary light source. When used as the main light, pay attention to ensure that it does not shine on the lens (by using a sunshade).
- For wider frames and larger scenes, use several lamps to improve propagation.
- Thoughtful use of lamps with different color temperatures produces excellent creative effects.
- In narrow frames, the lamp is a source of contour lighting that gives depth to an image.
