Are you looking for professional studio lighting with a softbox? Want your photos to gain vibrant colors and excellent sharpness? Properly chosen lighting significantly improves the quality of shots. Continuous light lamp is perfect for portraits, fashion, beauty photography, as well as video production. Its use greatly shortens the time spent on post-processing.

Continuous Light Lamp

Softboxes are a fundamental element of a photographic studio. They are used to modify the properties of light: the size of the luminous surface, intensity, and direction of light. Softboxes are gaining increasing popularity in video productions. An alternative to expensive and bulky Kino Flo lamps. The softbox's purpose is to soften the light, thereby reducing or eliminating shadows.

The FlatLight™ Single lamp is an excellent light source with a very wide range of applications. The large modifier surface guarantees a very soft distribution of light. The lamp's assembly and use are incredibly simple, and its price - affordable for everyone. Using the lamp results in a noticeable improvement in shot quality.

Softbox

The softbox dome is an octagon (octa) with a diameter of 90 cm, lined on the inside with embossed silver material: light is evenly distributed within the softbox, ensuring that the entire surface of the front diffuser maintains equal strength without weakening intensity from the center to the edges. The exterior of the softbox is matte black, preventing it from reflecting light from other lamps. It features a standard mounting for lighting stands.

The softbox's assembly and disassembly are exceptionally simple, and when folded, it takes up little space. The high-quality materials used in its construction guarantee trouble-free operation for years. Designed and built to ensure safe use with fluorescent bulbs. The fixture is a high-quality, functional softbox suitable for both flashbulbs and continuous light bulbs with an E27 thread.

Octagonal Fixture

Studio Lighting Stand

A lightweight, studio and outdoor three-section lighting stand. Maximum height of 200cm, working height of 190 cm, comfortable section clamps, a 16mm studio head with a universal 1/4" thread. The stand is designed for use with small and medium lamps as well as lighting kits. It works perfectly in configurations with flash and continuous light lamps, softboxes, and RedHead halogen lamps.

SINGLE 6802 Lighting Stand

Photo Bulb (85W/5500K)

This fluorescent bulb generates light with a color ideal for photographic applications - it does not introduce any color bias. Thanks to its natural color rendering, the bulb is perfect for photographers working under continuous lighting. Using constant lighting allows for faster light modeling and better prediction of the final result in photos. The low power consumption enables using this bulb both in open fixtures and partially closed ones (softboxes, diffusers, octas). The luminous power of the 125W bulb corresponds to a 600W halogen bulb. Color rendering index Ra>91.

Can I use a softbox for filming?

Absolutely. Recently, we've been observing an increasing overlap of applications reserved for photography in the world of film. The FlatLight SOFTBOX OCTA 90cm fixture is an excellent alternative to budget panel lamp versions (so-called Kino Flo). This solution's cost is significantly lower while achieving the same effect.

What sets an octagonal softbox apart from a rectangular one?

The most noticeable difference is the shape of reflections on reflective surfaces. This is particularly evident in portrait and fashion photography - the octagonal shape, similar to circular, mimics solar reflections. Octagonal softboxes also feature better light distribution (especially when lighting from the front).

What should you keep in mind?

  • Softboxes work best at short distances. Place them as close to the illuminated persons or objects, right on the edge of the frame.
  • The larger the softbox's diameter, the smoother the tonal transition between light and shadow.
  • If you need to illuminate from a long distance - remove the diffusive fabric. You'll get even more light this way.

FlatLight™ Single Octa 9181 - what can you use it for

  • Main or supplementary lighting in portraits
  • Supplementary light in nudes, fashion photography
  • Supplementary light in wider frames
  • Children's photography
  • Product photography

CineGEN® — studio equipment designed by practitioners

CineGEN® is a Polish studio equipment brand we created in 2011 in Janki near Warsaw. We don't have 35 years of tradition or offices on two continents — what we do have is around 40,000 orders with CineGEN® products fulfilled every year and 15 years of working with light, which taught us what actually works in a studio.

The brand was born for a simple reason: selling other people's equipment, we too often had to explain flaws we had no control over. We preferred taking responsibility to making excuses — so we started building our own.

How we work

Specifications and part of the designs are created in Poland; manufacturing takes place in China, under our supervision. We say this openly, because that's how studio equipment is made all over the world today. The difference lies in who sets the requirements and who answers for the result: every batch arrives at our warehouse in Janki, where we inspect it, and before a product enters our catalogue, we work with it ourselves — on packshots, portraits and video shoots.

Our product descriptions state real parameters and real limitations. A 200 PLN lamp won't replace a 2,000 PLN kit — and we won't pretend otherwise.

What you'll find under the CineGEN® brand

Continuous lighting (FlatLight™, Lumifi™, ReLed™, Ensö™ panels with CRI >95), Ignitix™ photographic bulbs, softboxes and light modifiers, lighting, photo and video stands and tripods (including the Jupiter™ series), and home studio kits.

What we stand behind

CineGEN® is a trademark protected at the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland (application Z.574925, rights held by Digishots Sp. z o.o.).
Warranty service and spare parts are handled at our facility in Janki — no shipping your gear "back to the manufacturer".
You can see the equipment in person at our location in Janki (ul. Poniatowskiego 17), and you'll find tests and tutorials on the digishots.pl blog and the CineGEN YouTube channel.

CineGEN® is a proprietary brand of Digishots Sp. z o.o., ul. Poniatowskiego 17, 05-090 Janki, Poland, KRS 0001135340.
