Lighting Kit
The lighting kit includes a FlatLight™ SINGLE-57182 softbox with dimensions of 50x70cm, an E27 bulb socket, and a 125W (equivalent to 600W) bulb. The kit also comes with a CGLS-802 stand that has a maximum working height of 230cm. The head is movable, allowing you to change the angle of illumination. It features an internal reflector.

The softbox works best at short distances. Place it as close to the subject or object being lit as possible, just on the edge of the frame. The larger the diameter of the softbox, the softer the tonal transition between light and shadow. If you need to shine from a long distance, remove the diffusive fabric. You will then get even more light.

Can I use this kit for filming?
Absolutely! We are seeing an increasing trend of photography applications being used in the film world. The FlatLight™ SINGLE-57182 softbox is a great alternative to budget versions of panel lights (known as kinoflo). The cost of such a solution is significantly lower, while the achieved effect remains the same.
What's the difference between an octagonal and rectangular softbox?
The main difference that can be easily noticed is the shape of reflections on reflective surfaces. This is especially noticeable in portrait and fashion photography - the octagonal shape, similar to a circle, mimics solar reflections. Octagonal softboxes also feature better light distribution (especially when lighting from the front).
