Claroom™ - Studio Lighting Kit for Home Studios

Conquer the grey. Shine brightly.

Are you searching for lights that will make your photos finally bright, sharp, and colorful? Do you run a YouTube channel and want to beat the competition? Want to showcase your product or service uniquely? When working with lighting, you'll quickly realize that more light is always better. Portraiture, fashion photography, and videography are particularly demanding. In today's world, homemade solutions aren't enough anymore. Properly chosen lights will have a decisive impact on how your photos or YouTube channel look.

Based on the most commonly used lighting patterns in "home and office" studios, CineGEN® has created the Claroom™ and Vivid™ continuous light kits. With these, you can accomplish a vast majority of film and photography projects under home studio conditions and achieve amazing results.

Benefits

The softbox significantly improves the quality of your shots and adds depth to the image. The diffusion fabric softens the light, making it more natural and pleasant to look at. The lighting kit allows you to work with a lower ISO sensitivity, which in turn enhances color saturation. Increased brightness also lets you close down the aperture, positively impacting the sharpness of the image. Using a pair of lights eliminates mutual shadows, especially important in facial photography - it flawlessly masks imperfections and improves skin appearance. The Claroom™ kit is perfect as both main and supplementary lighting for portraits, videoblogs, product photography, fashion, and children's photography.

  • Allows you to work with a lower ISO sensitivity, improving color saturation
  • Enables you to increase the aperture, enhancing image sharpness
  • Increases image dynamics (contrast), making your shot visually appealing
  • Using a second light fills in shadows on faces and highlights beauty
  • Working with continuous lights is simple. All it takes is intuition and sensitivity.

Things to Remember

  • Softboxes work best at short distances. Place them as close as possible to the illuminated persons or objects, right near the edge of the frame.
  • The larger the diagonal, the softer the tonal transition between light and shadow.
  • If you need to illuminate from a large distance - remove the diffusion fabric from the softbox. This will give you even more light.
  • The key to a successful shot is experimentation and playfulness. Plan some time for moving around lights and adjusting your camera settings.
  • Don't neglect the background.
  • From time to time, check the results on your computer screen. Remember that they will look slightly different than in the viewfinder.

Tips

How to Assemble the SOFTBOX Lamp?

The lamp will arrive in a package containing: a separate tripod, bulbs, fixture, and softbox. Assembling the lamp involves several steps:

  1. Remove the softbox from its cover, the rods for stretching the softbox, and the diffusion fabric. Set aside the diffusion fabric.
  2. From the box marked CGLX4, take out the lighting fixture. On the outer edge of the fixture (black plastic) there are eight holes.
  3. Insert the glass fiber rods into the openings in the lighting fixture. It's important to insert the rods with their THICKER end into the fixture. They should go in with a slight resistance.
  4. Lay down the softbox (bowl) on the floor so that the black material touches the floor, and the silver side faces upward. Leave the Velcro straps unfastened.
  5. Place the lighting fixture onto the silver surface. Insert the thinner ends of the rods into the pockets sewn into the corners of the softbox bowl.
  6. As you insert the remaining rods, the softbox bowl will start to stretch over the bending rods. You may need to use a little force, especially with octagonal softboxes.
  7. Once the bowl is assembled, set up the lighting tripod and attach the fixture onto it. Tighten the butterfly screws and fasten the Velcro straps at the back of the bowl.
  8. Secure the bulbs into the fixture.
  9. Put on the diffusion fabric by fastening it with the Velcro to the bowl.

Digishots Sp. z o.o.

CineGEN® — studio equipment designed by practitioners

CineGEN® is a Polish studio equipment brand we created in 2011 in Janki near Warsaw. We don't have 35 years of tradition or offices on two continents — what we do have is around 40,000 orders with CineGEN® products fulfilled every year and 15 years of working with light, which taught us what actually works in a studio.

The brand was born for a simple reason: selling other people's equipment, we too often had to explain flaws we had no control over. We preferred taking responsibility to making excuses — so we started building our own.

How we work

Specifications and part of the designs are created in Poland; manufacturing takes place in China, under our supervision. We say this openly, because that's how studio equipment is made all over the world today. The difference lies in who sets the requirements and who answers for the result: every batch arrives at our warehouse in Janki, where we inspect it, and before a product enters our catalogue, we work with it ourselves — on packshots, portraits and video shoots.

Our product descriptions state real parameters and real limitations. A 200 PLN lamp won't replace a 2,000 PLN kit — and we won't pretend otherwise.

What you'll find under the CineGEN® brand

Continuous lighting (FlatLight™, Lumifi™, ReLed™, Ensö™ panels with CRI >95), Ignitix™ photographic bulbs, softboxes and light modifiers, lighting, photo and video stands and tripods (including the Jupiter™ series), and home studio kits.

What we stand behind

CineGEN® is a trademark protected at the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland (application Z.574925, rights held by Digishots Sp. z o.o.).
Warranty service and spare parts are handled at our facility in Janki — no shipping your gear "back to the manufacturer".
You can see the equipment in person at our location in Janki (ul. Poniatowskiego 17), and you'll find tests and tutorials on the digishots.pl blog and the CineGEN YouTube channel.

CineGEN® is a proprietary brand of Digishots Sp. z o.o., ul. Poniatowskiego 17, 05-090 Janki, Poland, KRS 0001135340.
