They replace traditional 125W bulbs while achieving impressive brightness and power consumption of up to 25W max. Softbox 2.0
The lighting fixture consists of a sturdy housing for four E27 bulbs and a precisely designed softbox dome. The dome has been carefully shaped to ensure maximum light direction towards the diffusion fabric.
The softbox is made from high-quality materials selected for their thermal resistance and ability to effectively reflect light. The inner layer features a silver, metallized reflective surface that eliminates light scattering to the sides while directing it onto the diffusion fabric. This ensures that the maximum possible amount of light reaches the photographed object. The external matte black softbox surface effectively eliminates reflections from other sources.
Velcro straps placed at the edge of the mounting opening facilitate easy attachment of rods in the fixture. The softbox has been adapted to work with four bulbs with a maximum combined power of 200W. The system allows for step-by-step power adjustment through individual on/off switching of bulb pairs (two options: 0%, 50%, 100%). Mounting on lighting stands is exceptionally simple thanks to the special handle, which enables any angle adjustment.
Vidoox™ lamps come in various shapes and sizes depending on your needs: square (CGVX-4401L1, CGVX-6601L1), rectangular (CGVX-5701L1, CGVX-6901L1), and octagonal (CGVX-O601L1, CGVX-O801L1, CGVX-O901L1).
The softbox assembly process is intuitive, although it's worth familiarizing yourself with the guide below for maximum convenience.
Studio Stand

- Height adjustable for various applications: With a maximum height of 230 cm and working height of 220 cm, the stand is versatile and suitable for different conditions. The comfortable section clamps allow for quick height adjustment to suit your needs.
- Universal compatibility with various light sources: The CGLS-802 stand is designed to work with both small and medium lamps as well as lighting kits. Its versatility means it works excellently with flash and continuous lights, softboxes, and RedHead halogen lamps.
- Telescopic folding mechanism: Using a telescopic folding mechanism when collapsing the stand saves space. This is particularly important in situations where storage space is limited.
- Smooth height adjustment to any level: The stand is easily adjustable, allowing for smooth height adjustments from 78 to 220 cm. This flexibility means the CGLS-802 stand can be used in various conditions and adapted to specific situations.
- Leg spread providing stability: A leg spread of 75 cm guarantees the stand's stability, even when using larger lamps or lighting kits. This is an important feature, especially in dynamic outdoor conditions.
- Compatibility with various accessories: The stand is ideal not only on its own but also in combination with various accessories such as softboxes or halogen lamps. This means you can develop your photographic skills by experimenting with different light sources.
- Quality guarantee: The solid construction quality of the CGLS-802 stand is supported by a 24-month warranty. This means you can use this tool with full confidence, knowing it will meet your expectations for a long time.
How to assemble SOFTBOX / OCTA lamp:
- Remove the softbox from its cover, the tension rods for the softbox, and the diffusion fabric. Set aside the diffusion fabric.
- From the box marked CGLX4, remove the lighting fixture. On the outer edge of the fixture (black plastic), there are eight openings.
- Insert the glass fiber rods into the openings in the lighting fixture, ensuring you insert the thicker end of the rod into the fixture. They should go in with a slight resistance.
- Place the softbox fabric (dome) on the floor so that the black material touches the floor and the silver side faces up. Leave the Velcro straps unfastened.
- Place the lighting fixture on the silver surface. Insert the thinner ends of the rods into the pockets sewn into the corners of the softbox dome.
- As you insert more rods, the softbox dome will start to tighten around the bending rods. It may be necessary to use a little force, especially with octagonal softboxes.
- After assembling the dome, set up the lighting stand and attach the fixture to it. Tighten the butterflies and fasten the Velcro straps at the back of the dome.
- Insert bulbs into the fixture.
- Attach the diffusion fabric by pinning it onto the Velcro straps on the dome.
Can I use a softbox for filming?
Absolutely. Recently, we've been seeing more and more crossover of applications reserved for photography into the world of film. The SOFTBOX constant light fixture is an excellent alternative to budget panel lamp versions (so-called kinoflo). The cost of such a solution is significantly lower while achieving the same effect.
What's the difference between an octagonal softbox and a rectangular one?
The easiest way to notice the difference is by observing the shape of reflections on reflective surfaces. This is particularly noticeable in portrait and fashion photography - the octagonal shape, similar to circular, mimics solar reflections. Octagonal softboxes also feature better light distribution (especially when lighting from the front).
What should you keep in mind?
- Softboxes work best at short distances. Place them as close as possible to the people or objects being lit, right on the edge of the frame.
- The larger the softbox diameter, the softer the tonal transition between light and shadow.
- If you need to shine from a long distance - remove the diffusion fabric. This will give you even more light.

The increased amount of light provided by Vidoox™ also significantly affects the lighting of distant plans. The increased amount of light allows for uniform illumination of areas away from the main object, making the image more spatial. Richer tones and shadows give depth to every photograph, creating a three-dimensional effect. This is a key element, especially in artistic compositions or portrait sessions where we want to achieve an effect of space and depth in the frame.
