Tripod
Built to professional standards, the highly durable tripod base consists of three independently adjustable sections. Each leg is constructed with double-thickened tubes made from oxidized aluminum, making the tripod rigid and stable while still lightweight for transport. Each section can be locked independently at any height thanks to the "Lock&Loose™" system. The section clamps are made entirely from metal.
The legs of the tripod are finished with a bottom tripod (ground spreader, foot), ensuring exceptional stability. With the ground spreader, you can smoothly adjust the leg angle and significantly increase the working height range, which is especially important for shots taken from a lower perspective. The minimum working height of the tripod is 53 cm! (at knee level). The maximum working height is 172 cm!
When the bottom tripod is removed, the tripod can work on a Dolly system trolley (e.g., CG-301 or another compatible with Manfrotto Dolly).
Lock&Loose™ System
In the CG-5000 series tripods, the "Lock&Loose™" system has been further developed to enhance precision adjustment. This solution allows for clamping section control by using a special counter screw with rotational lock. With this regulation, you can increase the tripod's load capacity up to 12 kg. The factory setting for the CG-5100 tripod is 9 kg.
Head
The oil head is excellently crafted and mounted on a 65mm leveling hemisphere. Two tilt bearings (inclination) enclosed in a sealed, integrated cassette allow for tilting within the range of -80° to +95°. The head has an auto-return function that prevents it from dropping unexpectedly. An additional panorama bearing (rotation) ensures smooth and fluid rotation over the full 360° range. The head operates with medium-to-large, pleasant resistance, ensuring you don't "rush" your shot's start or end.
The quick release plate (45mm x 85mm in size) is equipped with mounting screws of ¼ and ⅜ inch. The head has typical security against uncontrolled quick release plate extension. You can conveniently operate the head using a handle with smoothly adjustable length (36 - 58cm), designed for both right-handed and left-handed users, finished with a pleasant grip.
For initial leveling, the head is equipped with a spirit level.
Bag
The tripod comes with a dedicated, professional bag designed for the CG-5090 model. The bag's outer covering is made from cordura fabric - the fiber structure and weaving method provide high resistance to abrasion and wear, making it highly durable against atmospheric conditions while remaining very lightweight thanks to its internal structure. Between the bag's external and internal layers lies a cushioning layer of polyethylene foam. The bag has a small inner pocket and Velcro straps for stabilizing the tripod.
