Softbox 2.0
The lighting fixture consists of a sturdy E27 bulb holder for four bulbs and a precisely designed softbox dome. The dome has been carefully shaped to ensure maximum light direction onto the diffusion fabric.
The softbox is made from high-quality materials chosen for their thermal resistance and ability to effectively reflect light. The inner layer has a silver, metallized reflective surface that eliminates light scattering to the sides while directing it towards the diffusion fabric. This ensures that the maximum possible amount of light reaches the photographed object. The matte black outer surface of the softbox effectively eliminates reflections from other light sources.
Velcro straps placed at the edge of the mounting opening facilitate hassle-free attachment of rods in the fixture. The softbox has been adapted to work with four bulbs with a maximum combined power of 200W. The system allows for stepped power adjustment by individually turning on/off pairs of bulbs (two options: 0%, 50%, 100%). Mounting on lighting stands is exceptionally simple thanks to the special handle, which enables any angle adjustment.
Lumilux™ lamps come in various shapes and sizes depending on your needs: square (CGLX-4401L1, CGLX-6601L1), rectangular (CGLX-5701L1, CGLX-6901L1), and octagonal (CGLX-O601L1, CGLX-O801L1, CGLX-O901L1).

- Versatility in collaboration with different light sources: The CGLS-802 stand is designed to work with both small and medium lamps as well as lighting sets. Its versatility makes it an excellent companion for flash and continuous lights, softboxes, and RedHead halogen lamps.
- Telescopic folding mechanism: Using a telescopic folding mechanism after collapsing the stand allows you to save space. This is particularly important when storage space is limited.
- Smooth adjustment to any height: The stand is easily adjustable, allowing for smooth height adjustments from 78 to 220 cm. This flexibility means that the CGLS-802 stand can be used in various conditions and adapted to specific situations.
- Leg spread providing stability: A leg spread of 75 cm guarantees the stand's stability, even when using larger lamps or lighting sets. This is an important feature, especially in dynamic outdoor conditions.
- Compatibility with various accessories: The stand is ideal not only on its own but also in combination with different accessories such as softboxes or halogen lamps. This means you can develop your photographic skills by experimenting with different light sources.

How to assemble SOFTBOX / OCTA lamp:
- Remove the softbox from its cover, the rods used to tension the softbox, and the diffusion fabric. Set aside the diffusion fabric.
- From the box marked CGLX4, remove the lighting fixture. On the outer edge of the fixture (black plastic), there are eight openings.
- Insert the glass fiber rods into the openings in the lighting fixture, ensuring that you insert the thicker end of the rod into the fixture. They should go in with a slight resistance.
- Place the softbox fabric on the floor so that the black material touches the floor and the silver side faces up. Leave the Velcro straps unfastened.
- Place the lighting fixture on the silver surface. Insert the thinner ends of the rods into the pockets sewn in the corners of the softbox dome.
- As you insert more rods, the softbox dome will begin to stretch over the bending rods. It may be necessary to use a little force, especially with octagonal softboxes.
- After assembling the dome, set up the lighting stand and attach the fixture to it. Tighten the butterflies and fasten the Velcro straps at the back of the dome.
- Insert bulbs into the fixture.
- Attach the diffusion fabric by pinning it onto the Velcro straps on the dome.
Can I use a softbox for filming?
Absolutely. Recently, we've been observing an increasing overlap of applications reserved for photography in the film world. The SOFTBOX constant light fixture is an excellent alternative to budget panel lamp versions (so-called kinoflo). The cost of such a solution is significantly lower while achieving the same effect.
What's the difference between an octagonal softbox and a rectangular one?
The easiest way to notice the difference is by looking at the shape of reflections on reflective surfaces. This is particularly noticeable in portrait and fashion photography - the octagonal shape, similar to circular, mimics solar reflections. Octagonal softboxes also have better light distribution (especially when lighting from the front).
What should you remember?
- Softboxes work best at short distances. Place them as close as possible to the people or objects being lit, right on the edge of the frame.
- The larger the softbox diameter, the softer the tonal transition between light and shadow.
- If you need to shine from a long distance - remove the diffusion fabric. This will give you even more light.
