Setting up a home photography studio is not an easy task, especially if you're doing it for the first time. The abundance of offers online only makes the decision and purchasing process more complicated. A great solution is to opt for a ready-made, complete kit to build your own home photography studio - DELUXStudio™. In its GreenScreen version, it allows for "virtual background replacement" during post-production through color keying.
Using typical professional solutions is often not feasible in a home environment due to several significant reasons:
- The cost of studio equipment is high
- The location where you work is rented
- After the photoshoot, the room serves other purposes
- You frequently change the place where you take pictures
CineGEN®, known for producing accessories for film and photography, has addressed the needs of the semi-professional market by preparing a kit of accessories called Home&Office PhotoStudio (Home Photography Studio). This lightweight and easy-to-use kit is based on the most essential and popular accessories, fulfilling two requirements:
- The components of the kit are as small as possible so that the entire setup can be assembled in a small room
- The complete kit allows for high-quality photos and video recordings
The green background included with the kit helps separate the model (or object) from an unflattering room setting, while the set of lamps ensures proper exposure. The shade of green has been carefully chosen to complement lighting sources with a color temperature of 5500K and facilitates color selection during post-processing.
- Background Hanging Kit - two tripods along with a crossbar create the simplest independent frame for hanging backdrops
- Green Polypropylene Background - neutral, allowing maximum focus on the model (or object) and facilitating color keying
- Lighting - complete, ready-to-use lamps that provide either informative or artistic lighting depending on your needs
One Kit, Many Possibilities
- Semi-professional, low-cost photo and video studio for self-assembly
- Enables high-quality photos and video recordings

Why Green?
Blue box (also known as bluescreen, GreenScreen, or chroma key) is a technique for processing images that involves replacing the background of relatively uniform color (originally blue, hence the name) with any other image. This technique is widely used in television (most commonly during weather forecasts and news programs) and film (to place actors in computer-generated environments). The background color is usually either blue or green because these colors are considered least similar to skin tone and rarely appear in costumes and props.
In digital video recordings, color is represented by three numbers indicating the brightness of the color components (RGB). The blue box effect is achieved through a simple comparison of the values of these numbers at different points in the recording with the background color. If the colors match (exactly or within a certain margin), that point in the recording is replaced by an alternative background.
When using a blue box, the person being recorded should not wear clothing similar in color to the background as it will be replaced by the alternative image. They also shouldn't hold objects of this color. This can be used to create effects like invisible characters wearing an invisibility cloak, for example.
In some Polish television channels (e.g., TVP, TVN Meteo Active), blue box is used for presenting weather forecasts. Public television in the years 1990-1992 utilized a blue box in "Wiadomości" to generate a uniform blue background and present animations next to the presenter. From 1997 to 2002, this same program used a blue box to generate an image of a newsroom behind the presenter's back. Source: Wikipedia.

DELUXStudio™
The DELUXStudio™ kit has been designed for users based on semi-professional, home studio requirements.
It includes the most essential components needed to build a photography studio at home - a background hanging kit, basic backdrop, and lighting. The green background meets color keying criteria and allows for digital "replacement" with any other background. The lighting power enables photography ranging from close-ups (portraits, details) to wide shots (busts, full figures). In the case of inanimate nature, the frame is only limited by the width of the backdrop. The kit can also be used for filming (live, stream, remote learning).
The home photography studio kit with a green background allows you to take the following types of photos:
- Portraits (for documents, makeup, artistic portraits)
- Product Photography (catalogs, websites, online stores, sales platforms)
- Stock Photos - for sale in photography services
- Virtual Newsroom - recording shots on a computer-generated background.

Background Hanging Kit
The background hanging kit consists of a simple setup of two CGLS-816B studio tripods and a crossbar spanning between them. The kit allows for hanging popular photographic backdrops up to 165 cm wide. With a load capacity of 5kg, the kit can accommodate cardboard, vinyl, or fabric backgrounds without limitations. The height at which the backdrop is suspended ranges from 83 cm to 205 cm. The bar is attached to the tripods using butterfly screws, preventing the bar from lifting when raising the background upwards. Unrolling the backdrop from its roll is blocked by inserting two grips (frogs) included with the kit.

GreenScreen - Green Background
The width and length of the fabric on the roll are sufficient to create a continuous background without folds (cyclorama) for photographing a figure. The cardboard roll protects against creases during transport or storage. Potential creases can be easily removed by steaming with steam iron or wetting the backdrop. The perforated texture of the backdrop minimizes reflections from strong light sources. The cardboard roll, on which the backdrop is wound, serves as a base for easy storage and transportation of the backdrop, allowing it to be hung on a studio bar or using T-type hangers. We strongly recommend purchasing the background hanging kit simultaneously, as it significantly improves the quality of work in the studio and the level of achieved results.
Creative use of the backdrop requires the photographer or camera operator to plan the frame and the desired final effect after applying color keying. Of course, a computer with appropriate software will be necessary for this. The good news is that there are free versions of software available on the market that allow image keying in both photography and film. For those starting their work with green backdrops as greenscreens, we highly recommend materials published on YouTube.
Regarding the texture of the material - people who encounter photographic polypropylene backdrops for the first time may worry that the backdrop's texture will be visible in photos. In real-life conditions, the object remains about 50 cm away from the background, which, combined with shallow depth of field, causes the backdrop's texture to become blurred.

Lighting Kit
The lighting used in this model is the most popular continuous light source currently - a pair of four-bulb lamps with softbox fixtures on lighting stands. The total lighting power allows working with models within the frame defined by the backdrop. In a symmetrical lamp setup relative to the lens axis, the lamps mutually compensate for shadows, resulting in a very soft distribution of light and eliminating potential reflections.
The light source consists of 8 powerful photographic fluorescent tubes with a standard color temperature of 5500K placed in two four-bulb fixtures. Each lamp has the option to turn off a pair of bulbs, allowing for rough adjustment of lighting power on set. The position of softboxes can be adjusted (height, tilt, rotation)
The lamps are powerful enough to light up standing figures and perform excellently in portrait photography.
