The black cassette of the BlackBox™ 100 tripod screen is an extremely well-thought-out technical solution, addressing a real problem for both home cinema enthusiasts and office perfectionists. Its key role is to radically reduce unwanted light reflection from the screen casing in situations where – due to trapezoidal distortions (keystone) – it is impossible to perfectly align the projector beam exclusively to the reflective fabric surface.

In practice, especially when there is limited ability to position the projector directly in front of the screen, some light inevitably "spills" beyond the edges of the canvas, falling onto the surrounding frame. If this frame were bright or shiny, it would reflect scattered, distracting light, significantly lowering the contrast perceived by the viewer, blurring blacks and reducing the overall depth of the image. The matte, black surface of the cassette acts as a specific light trap – it absorbs these stray light streams, preventing their reflection back towards the audience.

This results in an image with higher purity, better defined edges, and increased dynamic contrast, even in imperfect installation conditions. This detail transforms the screen from a passive carrier into an active element of the projection system, ensuring fidelity and immersion in the visual experience, guaranteeing that the viewer's attention is focused solely on what is displayed on the fabric, rather than being distracted by the surroundings.

Screen dimensions

The reiba® BlackBox™ projection screen has dimensions of 200 × 150 cm, corresponding to a diagonal of 250 cm (98 inches) in the native 4:3 format. Thanks to its universal aspect ratio, the screen works perfectly for both business presentations and watching movies or games.

Want to display content in other formats? No problem! Thanks to the ability to partially retract the screen, you can easily adapt it to various aspect ratios, such as:

• 16:9 (standard format for movies and series),
• 2.39:1 (CinemaScope – wide cinematic format).

Reflon® projection surface

The screen is equipped with an innovative Reflon® surface – a high-quality polyester fabric on a PVC base, designed specifically for professional projection. It features a reflection coefficient (gain) of 0.8, ensuring natural, faithful color reproduction and excellent detail rendering, especially in controlled lighting conditions.
