Softbox 2.0

The lighting fixture consists of a solid housing for four E27 bulbs and a precisely designed softbox dome. The dome has been carefully shaped to ensure maximum light direction onto the diffusive fabric.

The softbox is made from high-quality materials selected for their thermal resistance and ability to effectively reflect light. The inner layer has a silver, metallized reflective surface that eliminates light scattering to the sides while directing it towards the diffusive fabric. This ensures that the maximum possible amount of light reaches the photographed object. The external matte black softbox surface effectively eliminates reflections from other sources.

Velcro straps placed at the edge of the mounting opening facilitate easy attachment of rods in the fixture. The softbox has been adapted to work with four bulbs with a maximum combined power of 200W. The system allows for stepped power adjustment by individually turning on/off pairs of bulbs (two options: 0%, 50%, 100%). Mounting on lighting stands is exceptionally simple thanks to the special handle, which enables any angle adjustment.

❓Can I use a softbox for filming?❓

Absolutely! Recently, we've been observing an increasing overlap of photography applications in the world of film. The SOFTBOX constant light fixture is an excellent alternative to budget panel lamp versions (so-called kinoflo). The cost of such a solution is significantly lower while achieving the same effect.

❓What's the difference between an octagonal softbox and a rectangular one?❓

The easiest way to notice the difference is by observing the shape of reflections on reflective surfaces. This is particularly noticeable in portrait and fashion photography - the octagonal shape, similar to circular, mimics solar reflections. Octagonal softboxes also have a better light distribution (especially when lighting from the front).

What should you remember?

• Softboxes work best at short distances. Place them as close as possible to the people or objects being lit, right on the edge of the frame.
• The larger the softbox diameter, the softer the tonal transition between light and shadow.
• If you need to shine from a long distance - remove the diffusive fabric. This will give you even more light.

How to Assemble SOFTBOX / OCTA Lamp:

1. Remove the softbox from its cover, the tension rods for the softbox, and the diffusive fabric. Set aside the diffusive fabric.
2. From the box marked CGLX4, remove the lighting fixture. On the outer edge of the fixture (black material), there are eight openings.
3. Insert the glass fiber rods into the openings in the lighting fixture, making sure you insert the thicker end of the rod into the fixture. They should go in with a slight resistance.
4. Place the fabric (dome) on the floor so that the black material touches the floor and the silver side is facing up. Leave the Velcro straps unfastened.
5. Place the lighting fixture on the silver surface. Insert the thinner ends of the rods into the pockets sewn in the corners of the softbox dome.
6. As you insert the remaining rods, the softbox dome will start to tighten around the bending rods. It may be necessary to use a little force, especially with octagonal softboxes.
7. After assembling the dome, spread out the lighting stand and attach the fixture to it. Tighten the butterflies and fasten the Velcro straps at the back of the dome.
8. Insert bulbs into the fixture.
9. Attach the diffusive fabric by pinning it onto the Velcro straps on the dome.
